Questions and answers

What to know about ModMem.

The product is still in development. These answers reflect the intended experience and will become more specific before release.

Can ModMem start from the watch face?

Yes. Add the ModMem complication to a watch face to keep recording one tap away. The Watch shows a clear recording state while the microphone is active.

Does transcription work offline?

When Apple's on-device speech recognition is available for your device and language, ModMem can create transcripts and notes without a network connection.

What happens if the Watch app is interrupted?

Recordings are divided into manageable segments as they are captured. This limits how much audio is at risk if the app closes, the connection changes, or the battery runs low.

Can I use ModMem for a quick spoken note?

Yes. Start a recording from Apple Watch or iPhone, speak the thought, and stop. ModMem saves it as a moment with an organized note and the original audio.

Can I return to the original audio?

Yes. Notes, action items, topics, and transcript lines retain timestamps so you can jump back to the exact moment in the original audio.

How do Places work?

With location enabled, ModMem saves each recording’s precise GPS start point and organizes those moments in Places so you can return to what happened there.

When will ModMem be available?

ModMem is currently being tested on Apple Watch and iPhone. Join the waitlist for launch updates and early access information.
